Wood went 12-0 to tie for the NCAA Division II lead in victories as he won 12 of his 14 appearances this season. In 96 innings pitched he only allowed 63 hits while striking out 89. With his masterful control he allowed just one walk per nine innings, issuing a only 12 free passes on the season.

The right hander has won 20 straight games dating back to last season, one shy of the all-time Division II record. He rattled off a streak of 26 consecutive scoreless innings and took part in five shutouts, including two where he went the distance.

Wood became the first two-time Great Northwest Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year when he captured the conference's pitching Triple Crown (ERA, Wins, Ks).  Opponents hit just .184 off him this year and he had a WHIP of 0.781. He even picked up a save in one relief appearance after taking over mid-inning and recording three outs on three pitches.
